About a year ago, my wife had to travel to Miami and I tagged along for the ride. We stayed at the Betsy Hotel at the northern end of Ocean Drive, Miami Beach. Since we had the misfortune to be traveling during spring break we were glad we booked at the Betsy. It's boutique charm was not what the spring breakers were looking for so the hotel ended up being a sea of calm, a nice retreat.
Our room overlooked the courtyard pool so that also helped insulate us from the traffic passing by on Ocean Drive.
I thoroughly recommend you consider this hotel if you find yourself traveling to Miami Beach but don't want to be overrun by the crowd.
