No trip to china is complete without a trip to a Suzhou garden or two (or three, or four, or… you get where I'm going). It's usually possible to get people-free shots that preserve the tranquility of the spaces, even though there might be a bus full of people with you.
Weather, well that you can't control. My original slide had absolutely no detail in the grey, overcast sky. But even on a grey day, the gardens retain their serenity. Unfortunately, you just don't get the solitude opportunity to truly enjoy these spaces, walled off from the general hubbub of the surrounding city.
As in other situations, lousy light is an opportunity to play with black and white. Here I've chosen to go high key since low key was doing nothing for me. With some feature in the sky, low key might have been an option.
