Today's photo is of a New Orleans french Quarter Door. Or is is a window? This is one of four similar doors at 612 Dauphine. I was drawn to its weathered appearance, as though its had a hard life and been neglected for many years, shown no love or tenderness, a silent witness to all that has passed before and through it. According to Realtor.com 612 Dauphine is an 1,811 sq ft single family home built in 1916, was listed for sale on Jan 29, 2016 for $1,160,000, and has only one bedroom. From that, and its proximity to Bourbon Street, I'm guessing the doors are decorative these days. I hope the new owner finds a way to keep them just as interesting as they are now. A fresh coat of paint would ruin them!
