Here's perhaps my favorite photo of my series of a camel, alone in a sea of sand.
If you saw the first in the series and the second I posted yesterday, then you'll notice that the camel had originally turned in my direction. But the dunes were even higher where I was so he circled around to and headed off to the north-east.
To me this shot epitomizes the emptiness of this part of the world. If it wasn't for our general thirst for oil, I wouldn't have been here. I theorized before that this animal had separated from some camel train and was wandering aimlessly. All other things being equal, I really don't think this camel wanted to be here either. At least I was being compensated for my skills and knew where I could find plentiful food and water.
The beast may have escaped one burden but he only ended up swapping it for another. Out of the frying pan and into the fire, as they say.
