Having cruised into Phang Nga Bay, our captain took us to our first island. We would visit several that day. Today's photo shows the way in to one of the ‘hongs'.
I'm pretty sure that by this time I was using fuji Velvia film pretty near exclusively which always gave rich, saturated, blues and greens.
The rock is a grey in the center of the photo because the rock there has cleaved away in the recent (geologically speaking) past. On the right of the frame is the more weathered looking rock that has been exposed to the wind and rain for considerably longer.
The dark hole is the entrance of a passage to the interior.
