Whenever I look at this photo I think of the (near) timelessness in this view of a Li River Settlement.
Today I've another view of the Li River - two photos, first in black and white and second in color.
I shot these reflections from the cruiser on the Li River near Guilin in China.
For me, it was like looking through the portal to a hidden world. Much like my photo of the woman washing her hair, I felt a little as though I was intruding, but in this shot the cyclist can obviously see me.
Although I titled today's photos 'Suzhou River Scene' they should perhaps more accurately be titled 'Suzhou Canal Scene' for most of the waterways in Suzhou are canals and the straight lines of the banks in this scene look more canalish than riverish.
