Here's a bonus photo for today.
When I got home tonight I was hoping to see the transit of Venus but the skies to the west were cloudy and the sun was still relatively high in the sky. I tried my telescope mylar filter on my 400mm lens but that wasn't working and the clouds kept rolling by. So I set about cooking dinner, looking to the west every now and then.
As the sun dropped lower I noticed a break in the clouds but the sun was getting close to disappearing behind my neighbor's house.
I switched my telescope mylar filter for my Singh-Ray vari ND filter and turned it to max. And there it was. Venus in it's transit across the sun.
I made sure both my kids got to see the event through my viewfinder and then captured a series of frames.
