Here's another photo of the front crew for whom it is almost break time. The line continues over the dunes in the distance but this load of geophones runs out at the truck. They've two more stations to go before they get a break.
Mostly they'd lie around chatting. They might make some tea – water, evaporated milk, sugar and tea-bags all cooked up in one pot. It took some getting used to tea made this way – I usually found it to be too sweet.
We would make our tea the English way, add boiling water to tea bags, then add milk and sugar to taste. I'd long given up adding sugar by this time. We'd need a bunch of tea bags to get some color to the water and a bunch more for a hint of flavor but that was quickly overwhelmed by the taste of the evaporated milk. On the plus side, is wasn't as sweet as the tea made by our junior staff.
