Once again, from a doorless helicopter you get the opportunity to shoot straight down – much like you can from a balloon.
This is a shot of the R719 and the railroad that runs parallel to it about 18 miles south of Bothaville in the Free State, a couple of miles south of our camp at Schoonspruit/Skoonspruit.
Looking at this railroad it reminds me of an incident at another railroad where one of our workers found three large plotters still in their cardboard shipping boxes by the side of a railroad. We reported the items to the local police who theorized they'd been offloaded while a train waited for the nearby signal for some partner in crime to pick up later. That the cardboard boxes were not damaged indicated they hadn't accidentally fallen off a train in motion.
