I love deserts. I lived for five years in the Libyan Desert in Libya and Tunisia and spent a further six months in the desert in Oman. (Hopefully Libya will become a safe places to visit again in the future but I wouldn't go there now.) The desert south-west of the usa then is a place I love to visit, though it has way more vegetation and life than the Libyan Desert. Today's photo is of the Titus Canyon Road, or the road to Leadville in death valley national park. On this particular day I was the first one down the road so there were no dust clouds on the road before me. It takes a couple of hours to drive this in a car (4 x 4 preferred). I can't imagine how long it took the miners on horse back or ox wagon.
