I woke this morning to a sombre grey day. It's fall here in the usa and it's not just the political season that is changing.
That woke me up to the fact that it's not just the political season that is changing in the usa. It's been harder to tell than usual here on the Texas Gulf Coast. The regular season of High School Football (rent Friday Night Lights if you've not seen it) has come to a close with no need to wear anything other than shorts and a T-shirt to the game and my American Giant hoodie remains hung in the closet.
I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd post an image of fall foliage. I took this one a few years back while passing through the small town of Orland in maine.
According to the image data, I took this mid-afternoon. As you can tell, that was also a grey, overcast day and the sky in the image reminds me of the sky outside my window this morning.
Despite taking this photo relatively late in the day, there was virtually no wind to stir the Orland river resulting in a mirror-like reflection.
I imagine this year these colors have already gone by now, peak color usually comes in October.
