Last week I had to be in Calgary for not the happiest of reasons. Most of my Calgary trips are strictly business, up on Monday back on Thursday. Sometimes I'll vary them though so last week was up on Wednesday, back on Friday.
While the intervening Thursday had some light snow flurries, both the flight in and the flight out had crisp, clear, dry air.
My preferred seat is the window seat. Ahead of the engines if I can get it but I'm not traveling in first class so the puffer usually blocks my view somewhat. I'm also a righty so prefer to sit on the left of the aircraft to give my right elbow space to move (apologies to my fellow travelers on my right).
Having suffered for the last several months with an iPhone 6S that would typically need to be constantly on external power, I jumped on the iPhone 11Pro Max when it came out. I'm still getting used to the size of the thing but I wanted to give the camera a try.
The image below shows, from left to right, West Butte, Gold Butte, and Mt Brown in Montana, just south of the us-Canadian border.
It's a JPEG taken with the ProCamera app and tweaked in Lightroom and topaz Studio 2. I normally use the ProCamera app in the RAW+JPEG mode but didn't realize till later in the flight that I had changed my settings to JPEG only. Oh well, never mind.
And while I'm here, a big shout out to the folk at United Airlines and the crew of UA 1607 of November 1, 2019 for a very pleasant flight. Now I just need to pop over to Amazon and get some replacement ear pads for my Bose QC25s and a Lightning-to-headphone dongle so I can listen to tunes on my next flight.
