Daily Photo – Grumman Goose
I took this photo of what I believe to be a Grumman Goose in 1990 in Puerta Galera in the Philippines.

Here's another shot of the beach at Pekan Teluk Bahang, Penang, Malaysia. If you take a look at my other photo of Pekan Teluk Bahang, you can see these two boats behind the buoy flags of the boat in the foreground. It's no so obvious that it's raining in this image.
I had walked back down through the park to re-take my shot of the Park Central Hotel. I then thought I'd walk back up the surf line to where my wife was lounging under a Boucher Brothers umbrella. That was not my best idea! Years ago when I worked in Libya and Oman, hiking through the sand was normal. Now, many years later my muscle-memory for this activity has long since faded and I found I had to head back up to the firmer sand away from the water to make decent progress.
Miami beach is dotted with these wonderful Lifeguard stations. They're named for the streets that would intersect the ocean if extended that far. That way, if there's an emergency, it's pretty easy to say where you are located. Each shack appears to be different in overall design and decoration.
I'm going to go out on a limb with the name of this photo. I'm about 80% sure it's somewhere on Koh Phi Phi Ley and not Koh Phi Phi Don. I didn't note the distinction on the notes on my slide label on this one. I'm also going to guess that I took this from a boat, by virtue of the deeper blue at the bottom of the frame. The shallow water is that lovely aqua color while the deeper water is a colder blue.
If you're stuck in your office and it's grey/cold/wet or otherwise unpleasant or dull, then kick back and imagine you're on this beach with your favorite companions and favorite beverage! You can hear the waves rippling on the beach, smell the salt air, feel a light breeze - paradise!. This is a view of Loh Dalam Bay on Koh Phi Phi Don.
