In the background is the Parish Church of Saint Wilfrid while in the foreground, the River Wharfe flows beneath a five arched bridge that carries the Dalesway
Look closely and you can see our camp pretty much centered side to side and just below the horizon. This view is almost certainly to the south-east, the mountains in the distance being in Lesotho. Most of our camps lasted less than a month before we were off again, nomads in Toyota Hiluxes.
As with Hellscombe Cottage there's a cottage at Aldbourne Warren that also sits snug to the base of the hill to their east. There must be some, most likely weather related, reason for this. Maybe it was close to water back in the day.
Late afternoon and a farm worker pulls a harrow across a field before a stand of trees. The trees all tilt to the right showing the direction of the prevailing winds. Dust hangs in the air behind the tractor.
