Daily Photo – Bird on a Wire

It's trickier to find the bird sitting on the wire in this image than the two caged birds in the image I posted yesterday, but it's there. You might need to click on the image to go over to my Smugmug version and enlarge from there.

I'm fairly sure in my own mind that this is just the same as yesterday, from the same place, just looking in the other direction. I'm probably in an rather than just in the .

As I look at these images now I start to wonder what it was like inside – were the structures also decaying on the inside or did the inhabitants keep them in good shape? I've a sense that the inhabitants rented rather than owned and that the landlords were as unfastidious about the interiors as the exteriors but this is all conjecture on my part since I never went inside.

If you look closely you can see a bird sitting on a wire that passes along the front of these buildings. Chinatown, Singapore, 1989, before it was 'restored'.
