Back in 1991 in china, this appeared to me to be the chinese F150 – the 1 manpower, bicycle pickup. Apologies to all those Silverado and Ram fans, but the F150 is more widely known globally as the workhorse American pickup truck.
I'm assuming that the brakes on this were a reverse pedal mechanism as I can see no sign of brake levers on the handlebars. I don't see a gear shift either so I'm thinking this vehicle would have had less utility in a more undulating area.
The first ‘F'-series I ever drove was a beat up F250 back in 1986 when I worked in south africa. If you changed gear too vigorously, the gear shift lever would come away in your hand. Fortunately the mechanics showed us how to repair it – they got fed up of the call for help!
