Today's photo shows a tram driver taking a cigarette break. The number 11 tram to Rehalp sits outside Oerlikon station in this overhead shot taken from the Swissotel across the street.
If the trams arrived at a station early, they just seemed to wait, to make sure they didn't get ahead of schedule.
Seems like the classic ‘under promise and over deliver' approach for it means the tram usually arrives early. It also makes their timetables reliable planning tools.
I often wish all public transport would take this approach. There are few things that get me wound up more than thinking I'm going to miss my connection.
