I've spent a while on Google trying to place this house but I've not been able to. It's probably long been replaced by a gleaming high rise.
I was struck by the relative maturity of the trees growing our of the brick work. Someone, probably the city, had erected a wooden safety screen around the base of the house but nothing appeared to have been done to remove the trees that were slowly separating the bricks. I wondered how much of the brickwork the wooden safety barrier was intended to contain, and even how sturdy the boards were. Would they hold a brick falling from the roof or would it plunge on through the boards and onto the sidewalk below?
