Here's another view of the crew dune shooting. The vibs are pretty much in the same location as yesterday's photo. The Sercel SN348 box visible on the slip face of the dune here can also be seen above the ring of geophones in yesterday's photo.
From this view it's not hard to figure out why it's called a sand sea. Smaller ripples in the foreground give way to huge waves of sand in the distance.
There's a small area of gravel lain poking through top right but pretty much everything else is shifting sand.
Again, this being a close to midday shot it kind of illustrates the lack of contrast in the terrain which made driving quite challenging.
