Today's photo is one I took from the Pont de la Concorde of dusk on the Seine. It's a classic view with the Pont Alexander III and the Eiffel Tower both in the shot.
When my wife and I lived in Paris, our apartment block was just off the river, separated by the RER line to Versailles. But, being low rent, we were on the first floor, above the garage doors looking out onto Rue Cauchy that runs perpendicular to the river so we did not have a river view. Thankfully also, because of the local topography, we didn't get any train noise either unless we had the windows opened.
In the summer, in Paris, the sun sets late but dusk lasts even longer. For this photo, the sun had set at 8:20 pm but this shot was taken almost two hours later at 10:12 pm and there was still plenty of light in the sky.
Unlike Texas where dawn and dusk are a pretty reliable 30 minutes each pretty much all year round, the summers in Paris have long drawn out dawns and dusks.
On this particular trip I was on a vacation with my family so I only took one evening out with my camera. Having lived for two years in Paris I already have tons of images but its a city I never tire of exploring or photographing.
