Back in October I posted a series of images from a street theater that I happened across while wandering the streets at night. I came back around the following day, later in the afternoon to find the stage abandoned. The players had moved on and taken their sets with them.
The stage appears to be sitting on two saw-horse style beams that run front to back. On top of these are some beams that run the width of the stage, then some that run front to back and on top of those, the boards that make the stage. The rest of the framing is bamboo. Plastic sheeting shrouds the roof, sides and back of the stage. Clearly the city inspectors work to a different standard than I'm used to with the stage clearly protruding off the vacant lot it occupies and out into the street.
In my prior series, I was standing off to the left of this frame and the audience was sitting/standing where the street vendor is preparing the food he'll serve after the sun goes down.
The following day a variety troupe had set up on the stage and presented a mix of music and comedy and I'll post some images from that performance over the next few days.
