Given I arrived some time after the play started and couldn't follow it anyway, not understanding the language, I concentrated on the actors and the audience. As I mentioned in a prior post, I happened across this show while wandering the streets of Georgetown, penang one evening back in 1989. One huge benefit of street theater is that no-one complains about the presence cameras – though I've little doubt I'd have been frowned upon severely if not beaten senseless had I been so rude as to allow a flash to go off! Fortunately, this venue was just adequately lit for my ISO 100 film though the images are a touch soft. I was particularly struck but the makeup on the female characters. I can only wonder how long it took these actors to apply and then remove their makeup!
