The Betsy Hotel has a neat rooftop deck for guests. From the loungers you can look out over the top of the palm trees to the ocean. Like the rooms overlooking the courtyard, the city sounds rise up and past you when you're up on the deck. I took this image at shortly after 8:00 pm. Most everyone else was dining at this time of night so I had the space to myself.
It's always a joy to me when I can find these serene havens in the midst of a vibrant city. You can truly unwind and get away from it all, even though ‘it all' surrounds you.
The following morning I got up early to watch the sunrise. I posted one of those sunrise images back on December 14, 2011.
