Ah, the traditional British pub with the traditional red phone-box outside. Only, of course, this pub isn't in Britain. The US flag is a bit of a give away.
The Six Pence Pub sits on Bull Street at East Perry Lane in savannah, Georgia. It's just a couple of blocks south of Chippewa Square where Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump sat on a bench and narrated his story.
The pub was originally opened by a couple who had emigrated from Manchester, England. It's hailed as the most authentic English pub in Georgia. I didn't actually go inside so I can't vouch for that claim, but the photo on their webside shows a Fullers ESB pump, among others, which is a good sign. This photo was taken around lunch time on a weekday and there was certainly no shortage of customers, both inside and outside.
What I've long wondered about this scene though, is why is the man in white in the background jumping over the wall and through the bushes?
